The difference between CAT5e box cable and CAT5e network cable

December 30, 2020

The cat5e box cable uses 4 winding pairs and 1 tensile wire. The color of the wire pairs is exactly the same as that of the five twisted pairs, which are white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown and Brown. Bare copper wire diameter is 0.51mm (wire gauge is 24AWG), insulated wire diameter is 0.92mm, and UTP cable diameter is 5mm.
Category 5 jumpers use 4 pairs of twisted pairs, which are also white-orange, orange, white-green, blue, white-blue, green, white-brown and brown respectively. The diameter of bare copper wire is 7/0.20 or 7/.016 or 7/0.12, and the diameter of UTP cable is generally 5.5mm.

The main differences between CAT5e box cable and CAT5e Network Cable are as follows:

1. From the length of the two
The super five-category box line is a box-by-box line. There is no crystal plug at both ends of the line, and it is generally 305 meters per box.
Category 5 jumpers have crystal heads on both ends, generally 1 meter, 2 meters, 3 meters, 5 meters, 10 meters, 15 meters, 20 meters, 30 meters, etc., and can be directly connected to the computer.
2. From the perspective of the two conductors
The super five box line is a single strand conductor, the size is 1/0.5, can be made of pure copper and copper clad aluminum.
Category 5 jumpers are multi-stranded conductors, generally 24AWG, 26AWG, 28AWG, and can be made of pure copper and copper-clad aluminum.
Cat 5e box wire and jumper copper-clad steel conductors can also be made, but currently there are very few on the market.
3. From the perspective of both packaging
The super five-category box line is generally a whole roll and a whole roll, and each roll of 305 meters is directly placed in a suitable carton, or axed.
Category 5 jumpers are generally packed in PE bags, blister boxes or color boxes, and then packed in boxes.
4. From the scope of application of both
The super five box line is generally used for engineering lines and house decoration.
Category 5 jumpers are generally used to connect to computers, home office or routers, HUBs, patch panels and cabinets.
