Many friends may ask when seeing the title, "Category 6 cables have not been popularized
yet, so why did Category 8 cables come?" Yes, in most people’s lives, the networks they
use are 100M and Gigabit networks, and the matching cables are also CAT5e and CAT6 cables.
If they have not been in the network communication industry, most people are don't
understand the class line, let alone the eight class line.
Today, we will take a look at this new generation of network jumpers that "went out"—
Cat8 eight-category cable. What is the concept of eight-category cable? What's the
difference with Category 5
Network Cable, Category 6/Super 6 network cable and Category
7/Super 7 network cable? Go!
1. What is the eight types of network cables
Category 8 network cable is the latest generation of network cable. Like Category 7 network
cable, it is double shielded (SFTP). It has two wire pairs, a 2000MHz ultra-high wide
screen, and a transmission rate of up to 40Gb/s, but its maximum transmission distance is
only 30m, so it is generally used for the connection of servers, switches, patch panels and
other equipment in short-distance data centers.
In the ISO/IEC-11801 standard, Cat8 eight-category network cables are divided into Category
I and II according to the channel level. The shielding types of Category I Cat8 eight-
category network cables are U/FTP and F/UTP, which are backward compatible with Cat5e and
Cat6. , Cat6a RJ45 connector interface; Category II Cat8 eight types of network cable
shielding type is F/FTP or S/FTP, backward compatible with TERA or GG45 connector
interface.
Difference from other network cables
At present, there are four kinds of network cables that are more common in life: Cat 5e,
Cat 6, Cat 6 and Cat 7. What is the difference between them before? The following picture
can be used for reference:
As can be seen from the figure, the eight types of network cables, like the seven types of
network cables, are double-shielded and can be used in high-speed broadband environments,
such as data centers and places with dense bandwidth. Although the transmission distance of
the eight types of network cables is only 30 meters, far Far inferior to other types of
network cables, but its transmission rate and frequency bandwidth are far more than other
types. Therefore, the difference between the eight types of cables and other types of network cables is relatively large, which is mainly reflected in the transmission rate, frequency bandwidth, transmission distance, and application environment.
2. Eight types of network cable structure
The high-quality eight-category network cable adopts thick pure copper gold-plated
contacts, which is resistant to plugging and unplugging. The outer layer is made of high-
quality PVC environmental protection material, which is resistant to abrasion and
stretching, and has a long service life to ensure the signal stability.
The reason why the eight types of network cables have ultra-high network speeds is closely
related to the cores. Shanze eight types of network cables use 26AWG pure copper cores,
each of which is composed of 7 independent cores, and two 7 cores are twisted together to
form a multi- Bone conduction. Copper core + ground wire + double-layer aluminum foil
multilayer shielding,Strong anti-interference ability, easily meet the transmission requirements of 10 Gigabit network.
Although at present, the application of eight types of network cables is not extensive,
with the development of technology, the requirements of network cabling for transmission
performance continue to increase. Similarly, as communications enter the 5G era, computer
network speeds must not lag behind, and eight types of network cables will gradually It
will become the mainstream product in the integrated wiring system of the data center, and
we will wait and see!
